Hot magic drink with special cinnamon roll cake

Dear heroes of their own world!

Crazy how time has passed and now there are significantly less leaves left on the trees. When it gets cold outside, RoLa and I always look forward to very specific winter treats. And because today is Santa Claus, I want to share two family recipes with you!

And before we get to the baking recipe, it's first time for our very own winter magic.

Hot magic drink (for 3-4 people)

Ingredients:

1000 ml milk, 200 ml cream, 2 fresh oranges, 2 tsp cinnamon powder, pistachio pieces & orange slice and cinnamon powder as decoration.

  1. Heat the milk.

  2. Add 2 tsp cinnamon and stir.

  3. Squeeze oranges and add juice to cinnamon milk.

  4. Whip cream until stiff.

  5. Pour cinnamon orange milk into cups. Cover with a cream topping.

  6. If needed, decorate with pistachio pieces, orange slice and cinnamon powder.

With this, we are now somewhat strengthened to make our delicious cream buns:

Marzipan cinnamon roll cake (4-6 people)

Ingredients:

500 g flour, 60 g sugar, 250 ml milk, 20 g fresh yeast, 1 pinch of salt, 30 g cinnamon sugar, 250 ml cream, 1 egg, 130 g butter, 200 g marzipan, 1 tbsp cinnamon and powdered sugar for decoration.

  1. Dissolve the yeast (20 g) in the milk (250 ml). Add the egg (1 piece) and whisk with the yeast milk.

  2. Mix the flour (500 g), the sugar (60 g), the salt (pinch). Then add the melted butter (80 g) and the yeast-egg milk and knead into a smooth dough until the bowl is "clean".

  3. The dough should not stick, otherwise add some more flour.

  4. Let rise covered in a warm place for about 30 minutes.

  5. Roughly grate the marzipan (200 g).

  6. Roll out the yeast dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.

  7. Brush the dough with melted butter (50 g). Sprinkle with cinnamon (1 tbsp.) and the marzipan shavings and roll up from the long side (i.e. the 40 cm long side).

  8. Cut the roll into equal-sized slices (10-15 pieces).

  9. Place the snails in a greased springform pan (Ø 28 cm). Place the open sides facing up.

  10. Cover and let rise in a warm place until the snails have doubled in size (about 30 minutes).

  11. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees/fan for about 20-25 minutes.

  12. Meanwhile, warm the cream (300 ml) with the cinnamon sugar (30 g) and simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly, until it thickens a bit.

  13. Remove the warm snails and drizzle the cream mixture over them.

  14. If needed, the snail cake can still be dusted with powdered sugar.
